Jail Bird

We finally completed all our baby proofing. Grady has been pretty mobile for about two to three months, so we were a little behind. We had the major safety things covered (covered outlets). But now the cabinets are impenetrable my little baby hands, which makes Grady a little cranky.  He liked pulling bottles of olive oil, vinegar, and hot sauce out of the cabinet.

Yesterday we installed gates.  Prior to these additions, we watched Grady like a hawk.  Most of the time we spend our days in the basement where there are no dangerous stairs to fall down.  When we happened to be upstairs, we kept Grady away from the stairs.  Now he has full rein of the living room, dining room, and kitchen.

If you look closely you can see a gate behind Grady.  We have it blocking the kitchen from the dining room.  This way I can cook dinner and I don't have to worry about what Grady is getting into out of my sight.

We also installed a swinging gate at the top of the stairs.

Grady is officially a jail bird.  There is no getting out.  He actually has more freedom with the gates up than he did before.  No more worrying he's going to take a noise dive down the stairs! If only there was a way to baby proof the stereo, all those nobs are just too difficult for Grady's little hands to resist....
