I requested we go strawberry picking for a fun Mother's Day outing. The farm we went to was at least a half hour drive from our house. This wouldn't be a big deal if I had a typical baby who fell asleep the second the car started moving. However, my baby prefers to scream his head off. He was reaching pitches I didn't even know was possible. We may stay a little closer to home until his car etiquette improves.
Once at the strawberry farm, I strapped Dean to myself and we headed to the fields. Grady assisted with some picking...
but he preferred tossing the strawberries his father handed him into the box.
Here's my Mother's Day photo with my boys. Although, you can't see Deans face, you can see his foot hanging out on the left.
We had a great time. We ended up with 5 pounds worth of strawberries!
After we finished picking we sat down at a picnic table to give Grady some lunch before we bought soft serve ice cream. Being a rowdy boy, he made it through half a sandwich before falling underneath the table. He emerged with tears streaming down his cheeks and blood pouring out of his lip. He was okay, but we decided to head home (sadly, without ice cream).
Awww. No doubt next year will make for an easier trip! You can always have the ice cream with the berries at home :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful day! Love the pictures :-) You look really great, Mere. Already skinny again. Sorry Grady seems to have inherited his father's talent for creative injuries.
